Update on Frieda

I know you are all waiting with baited breath to hear more about Frieda the bird. Our household has actually become quite fond of her.

We accidentally gave her a fright a few days ago. (Simply by walking out of the front door after dark.) She flew off all in a tither and bonked her head repeatedly on the porch ceiling before sitting stunned and staring at us for a few seconds then flying to a neighboring tree. The kids decided she was gone forever and did not want to go to bed until she came home. We worked through that and then our interest was peaked with this new opportunity of a birdless nest.

We hoped that she had not disrupted her shoddily built nest and the potential little birdies-in-eggs that were (hopefully) inside...we decided since she was gone, we had to look.

So David brought in the ladder and climbed up to take a peek. We were delighted to see that Frieda does indeed have two little tiny white and brown eggs in her nest. (Which incidentally looks a bit better from the top than from the ground.)

Frieda got over her tizzy and came home sometime during the night and we were all happy to see her. We are anxiously awaiting some tiny peeping birds.

Guess the front door is off limits after dark for awhile. Gotta keep the boarders happy!
