Brain Pop

Wow. Moveable Type still remembers who I am. Shocker.

Caroline said something yesterday (she said lots of somethings actually, but one in particular) that kinda sums up the last few months for me. We were in the car driving about and running errands.

Caroline: "Mommy? My brain quit working."

Stephanie: "Oh really? What happened?"

Caroline: "It popped?"

Stephanie: (with eyebrows raised and curiosity on the face) "It popped? What does that mean?"

Caroline: "It just popped. Pop! Like that. My brain is not working very well right now."

Stephanie: "Ohhhh."

Caroline: "But it will get better. It popped and then it will get better."

Stephanie: "Okay sweetie. I hope it gets better soon." (grins to the back seat)

The drive continues in relative silence. Parker is reading. Stephanie turn on talk radio and presumably Caroline is in recovery. 10 minutes (or so) later...

Caroline: "Hey Mommy!"

Stephanie: "Yes?"

Caroline: "It's getting better!"

Stephanie: "What is?" (Don't worry. I hadn't really forgotten that quickly. Or maybe I had. I think I was just quite curious what she would say.)

Caroline: "My brain. It popped but now it is better. My bobulator is better now."

(Happy grins as she turns on the princess wand and it starts casting magic spells in a quite loud and twinkling way. I'm not sure about no volume control on a princess's magic wand. Shouldn't princesses have quiet and subdued voices? But this is obviously another topic. So I will stop.)

So in summary, I think my brain (among other things) popped a few months ago and is now in the mending process.

Stay tuned for:
