My, my, my, the comment section is having quite a life of its own these days. I think I had better post to try to regain some control over this site!

I have been spending lots of time lately researching and selecting curriculum ideas for next year. It is definitely one of the perks of teaching my children at home. (It also is upping my geographical and historical knowledge base for trivial pursuit type games-but don't tell anyone!) We have spent this year studying ancient history and we will end with the fall of Rome.

Parker has decided that he would not have enjoyed ancient Sparta. (Think boys taken away from home to a school to train them to become warriors at age seven and not released until age 60. Really...page 91 of Hillyer's A Child's History of the World) He does however, think ancient Rome (~200 B.C. or so) looks really neat and wants to take a quick time warp and try it out.

Just some thoughts...
