Caroline and I went shopping together this past weekend. Caroline was both my little sweet companion and my fashion consultant. One dialogue in a dressing room went like this... (and trust me, there were many more)
Fashion Challenged Mommy: Hey Caroline! (She was in her "own" dressing room across the aisle.) Come over here and look at this skirt.
Caroline: Okay! (Scuffling noises as she shimmies under the door.)
Fashion Challenged Mommy: What do you think of this skirt?
Caroline: (with furrowed brow) Hmmm.... I am concerned about the lines on this skirt. Do you see the way the lines go like this? (with accompanying hand motions for clarity) I don't like it. I am very concerned about those lines.
Fashion Challenged Mommy: (looking down to see if the skirt was striped, but no, the lines Caroline is talking about are the actual style stitching in the skirt.) Oh. It does look a little odd, doesn't it?
Caroline: Yes. I am very concerned about the lines. (serious look on little face) I don't think you should buy it.
Fashion Challenged Mommy: Good point. Okay. I'll try on something else. Thanks Sweetie!
Caroline: (smiling and shimmying back under the door) Bye! Call me when you want me to look again, Mommy!
Posted by stephanie at July 25, 2006 08:40 AMThat is hilarious! I need to hire Caroline to go shopping with me!
Posted by: Peggy at July 25, 2006 04:13 PMWhoa! That is some serious stuff. I hadn't even noticed the lines....thus my non-concern for them.
I see a bright fashionable future for that child.
