I left the children doing morning chores and schoolwork while I went to take a shower this morning.
As I finished the refreshing, routine, warm water dousing, I drifted into the living room absentmindedly and heard the kids talking. I perked up instantly with a mischievous grin, I am sure. I love to listen to their conversations when they do not know they have an audience. But what I heard this morning made me startle just a bit...
I heard a small girly voice call out "Parker! Is this a MACHETE?" (her emphasis, not mine.)
My eyebrows raised and I clamped my mouth shut. I figured they were fine and snuck off gigglingly to dry my hair.
